November 15, 2009- Austin, TX- Is there a correlation between Crossfit and intuitive shooting? I say yes. I recently trained my Crossfit Coach, Chris Hartwell, from Crossfit Central in Austin. He had almost no experience shooting a handgun and none under stress. Take a look at the video below, see how he did and what he has to say about it.
Intuitive or instinctive shooting is easy to learn and it works for inexperienced shooters, tactical operators or anything in between. It is my belief that we all come pre-programmed to defend ourselves with a handgun.
Crossfit is a fitness system created by Greg Glassman and has instructors and centers worldwide. It trains people to be in peak functional performance and uses natural movements. It is absolutely my workout of choice. Chris Hartwell is my Crossfit Coach and he provides instruction at Crossfit Central in Austin or privately.
Summit Self Defense provides instinctive shooting and gun deployment, concealed handgun licensing and carry programs in Texas and New Mexico. Summit has several instructors and provides training locally in Albuquerque and Taos New Mexico. Ryan Fellows is a senior instructor for Summit's New Mexico Operations. Robb Hamic is the Chief Instructor and provides training to corporations, individuals, law enforcement, women and military locally, nationally or internationally.
