November 9, 2009- Austin, TX- A increasing number of women are seeking concealed handgun licensing in Texas due to rising fear of violence and a desire to protect themselves. "I am receiving a large number of calls form women in the Austin Area seeking gun training," says Robb Hamic, Chief Instructor for Summit Self Defense. "I am happy to provide quality and realistic gun training in Austin for small groups or privately to fit my client's busy schedules."
Handguns are used 2.5-2.8 million times per year in self defense situations by private citizens. Many people in Texas own guns and people should know how to deploy a handgun, rifle or shotgun if you keep one in the house. "We live in a violent society and the Department of Justice reports that 6 out of 1000 Americans will be the victim of aggravated assault each year," says Hamic. Everyone knows that the United States is increasingly more violent and some people have increased vulnerabilities, such as women, the elderly and people who are in certain risk categories.
Too many concealed handgun education programs don't train students for the reality of a fight. Too many firearms qualifications are conducted with no stress and in a very controlled environment. "We all revert back to our lowest level of training in violent, stressful situations," he says. If you train to shoot guns by firing slowly at a paper target please be careful. People encounter mean, violent criminals each day/ night that use violence to further their objectives. If you have to use a gun in a defensive situation it will be fast, stressful and violent," says Robb Hamic. Are you ready?
